Our Story

Founded in March 2021, Little Paws Brisbane was created with a special focus on small breeds and oodle personalities. The inspiration behind the business was SJ’s soul dog, Charlie. After experiencing traditional indoor daycare environments, Charlie became increasingly overwhelmed and reactive, particularly around larger dogs. Following an incident where he was attacked, it became clear just how important the right environment, group dynamics and thoughtful care are for small dogs to feel safe, confident and supported. At the same time, a clear gap existed in Brisbane’s pet care space. Many small dogs needed a safer, more suitable alternative to large scale daycare settings. A place where they could enjoy social connection, movement and enrichment with dogs of a similar size, breed and temperament. Little Paws Brisbane was built to be that alternative. Structured outings designed to provide fresh air, balanced socialisation and purposeful care, while giving busy pet parents a seamless pick up and drop off service they can trust.

Over the past 5 years, Little Paws has grown into a trusted, community driven brand built on safety, structure and genuine care, now supported by a small dedicated team who share the same values and high standards.

SJ

Hi, I’m SJ, founder of Little Paws Brisbane.

At the heart of everything I do is Charlie, my Cavoodle and soul dog. Like so many of our clients, he is family, and the standard of care I would want for him is exactly what Little Paws was built around.

  • Charlie and I relocated from Adelaide to Brisbane in 2019. Starting fresh in a new city gave me a deep appreciation for community, trust, and how important it is to find the right people to care for your dog.

In 2021, Little Paws Brisbane was created with a clear vision to offer thoughtful, structured care designed especially for small dogs and oodle personalities. What began as one dog’s journey has grown into a trusted brand and connected community built on safety, consistency and genuine care.

Today, I lead Little Paws with pride and a hands on approach, ensuring every service reflects the values the business was founded on. I am trained in pet first aid, hold a full police clearance, and remain deeply committed to providing a safe, premium experience for every dog in our care.

Little Paws is more than a business to me. It is something I care deeply about and feel incredibly grateful to share with our clients and community.

Charlie

Hey poochies and pawrents

I’m Charlie, also known as the CEO (Chief Executive Oodle) of Little Paws Brisbane, If I had to describe myself in 3 words, they would be adventurous, loyal and handsome.

I’m a 7 year old second generation Cavoodle, originally from Adelaide, and I am very proud of my oodle heritage.

  • I am famous for my love of fetch and my impressive ability to find a ball no matter where it is hiding. When I am not chasing balls, I am giving hugs, standing up on my back legs and wrapping my paws around people. Snuggles are my specialty

I run on high quality fuel, with Big Dog raw meals and a Little Paws Eats Chicken Foot for dessert. Weekends are all about adventures, puppuccinos and spending time with my favourite people.

Little Paws is more than just dog care, it is a community, and I am very lucky to be a part of it

See you at the parks poochies!

Kelly

Kelly is a valued part of the Little Paws team and plays an important role across our group outings, pet sitting and day to day operations.

With hands-on experience in dog daycare environments, Kelly has developed a diverse skill set and a genuine understanding of what helps dogs feel secure, settled and fulfilled in care. She strongly believes dogs thrive in small, balanced groups, outdoor environments, and with calm, structured guidance that supports their individual needs.

  • One of Kelly’s greatest strengths is her natural ability to make dogs feel comfortable almost instantly. I have seen this first hand, particularly with shy or nervous dogs who quickly relax in her calm and reassuring presence. She has a gentle confidence that helps dogs feel safe, settled and supported.

Kelly leads our Friday outings and supports across all services, including stepping in while I am on leave and caring for our pet sitting clients. She has built beautiful relationships with the dogs in her care and continues to grow alongside the Little Paws community.

She is trained in dog first aid, holds a full police clearance, and brings a high level of trust, professionalism and consistency to every service she provides.

At home, Kelly has her sweet Cavalier King Charles, Lucy, a rescue who has further shaped her understanding and compassion for dogs at every stage of life.

Little Paws has always been about more than just the dogs. It’s about the people and pups behind them.

What started as a service has grown into a genuine, close knit community of like minded dog lovers who value connection, trust and shared experiences.
